History
Apple Valley LL started playing in 1957 and has been chartered with Little League International since 1967. On May 30th, 1957, the Lions Club dedicated two baseball fields behind the community center on Navajo Road. Later that year, Newton T. Bass threw out the first pitch. That year, the Lions Club raised $7,000 to pay for the bleachers, backstops, sprinklers, and grass. Just about a year later on May 22, 1958, Apple Valley Little League's first night game was scheduled for June 2nd at 7 p.m. The game put the Apple Valley Kiwanis, managed by Pep Proulx against the Apple Valley Salesman, managed by Dr. Gilliland. During that time, teams used the name of local sponsors as their team names. Through the years, the league has celebrated many wins during district, regional, sectional, and state tournaments in both baseball and softball. For over 65 years, we continue to provide a wholesome and fun family environment for youth of Apple Valley and beyond.
